Overview

An elderly couple, residing in an eight-bedroom house on a beautiful 150-acre estate with a 12-acre garden, seek a dedicated and compassionate Domestic Couple.

With an established team managing the farm and garden, the focus is on finding a highly skilled Housekeeper/Cook as one half of the couple, with flexibility for the other partner’s role (it could be within light maintenance, gardening or housekeeping).

The couple’s current Housekeeper/Cook is retiring after 33 years, so this role offers an opportunity to provide caring and consistent support in a welcoming home.

Job duties
Responsibilities of the Domestic Couple in Kent include:

• Perform meticulous cleaning and upkeep of the eight-bedroom residence, ensuring all rooms are maintained to an exceptionally high standard
• Manage laundry and ironing with care, including delicate linens and personal items
  Oversee general household organisation, including managing any cleaning supplies or inventories
• Prepare and serve nutritious and varied meals, catering to any dietary preferences and restrictions for two people
• Walking the family’s three dogs
• Preparing and lighting fires in the mornings
• Occasional driving and running errands
• Whilst the gentleman (with a full-time carer) and the lady are primarily self-sufficient, an understanding and empathy towards their needs is essential
• The other member of the couple can support with a range of tasks, including light maintenance, gardening assistance, and some driving

Candidates must be/have:

• Kind, empathetic individuals who are comfortable working with elderly clients and maintaining a warm, supportive household
• Experience with high-quality housekeeping and cooking
• A flexible and hardworking approach
• A love of dogs
• Valid driving licences

Accommodation
A three-bedroom cottage on the estate.

Dependants allowed, but unfortunately no cats, due to the fact the couple have dogs.

Location
Near Tunbridge Wells, on the Kent/Sussex border.

Hours
Full-time and flexible.

Salary
£75,000 (combined).
